I fell in love with this pink and white print on top the moment I saw it, so I got enough to have a fat quarter of my own too, ok I did that with the leafy print on the bottom too. Her profile said she loved piecing fabrics for quilting so i included some tiny vintage squares from my great grandmother’s stash. Plus more buttons, ribbons and trims.

The pincushion is made from another vintage square. A very asymmetrical look on this one due to where the print was on the square.

This one was fun to piece together. I made the pincushion below out of vintage fabric and the cutest translucent pink button. (Oops, shouldn’t have shot it on this fabric cause that wasn’t in the package).

I couldn’t help it, I had to throw in some zippers and piping and ribbon. A whole lot of this vintage easter print ribbon too. Hope she can use it on an easter basket or gift, something fun like that.

Lol. I’m a little picky about picking out my buttons, I was in the craft store with one of my friends and she kept pointing to pink buttons, but they weren’t quite the right pink. In the end, I think all these pinks go well together and not too corny either, what do you think?
This one went out to JacquieClare in the February Buttons, Buttons, Who’s Got the Buttons? Swap on Flickr.

From Sheysd1 in the February Buttons, Buttons, Who’s Got the Buttons? swap.

February’s color theme was pink. I especially love the poodleish pink ribbon and the hand sewn felt pincushion. See the little white flowers on it, they’re the cutest little sewing pins with little white flower buttons threaded on. My favorite of the buttons are those faded flower ones up at the top of the photo. Those are going to look so good on my pincushions. I also really like these ones with the etched lines right in the center.
I’m thinking the princess and rabbit ones might work well on a card for a baby shower or a necklace for a 6 year old. Wish I knew more 6 year olds. :)
I pinned all these up on my ribbon and button boards, which previously was lacking in pink, but now it’s got a whole little pink section. Quite cute, I think.

The first package came in the mail yesterday from jglezen. A lot more charm squares than I had expected and some fun postcards and sugar! I’m thinking about maybe some coasters with the americana set, or maybe some mini pincushions but maybe that’s the just sugar talking.

I’m hosting a swap. To take part, you can sign up for a swap-bot account and join the Gift Wrap Swap. But hurry, you have to sign up by Dec 1st.
In this swap you send out two packages of paper and trimming and get two packages of paper and trimmings from other swappers. The send date is Dec 10th, so you should get your wrap in plenty of time for the holidays (or those Dec/Jan birthdays that always creep up on you).
So, head on over to swap-bot and sign up for the swap!

Follow up: There weren’t enough people that signed up for this swap to make it actually happen, maybe next year.

I mentioned I swapped? Here are three fellow swap-bot swappers you should check out…
evey-in-orbit

Technically, not a blog, and much more of an art than a craft, Veronica has a great little flash based website at evey-in-orbit. See what she sees through her camera and how she explores herself through her paintings. If your looking for atc’s with an edge, check out the atc’s for trade under the paint tab. My personal favorite is Veronica’s telephone photo. Although, the Skee ball photo does bring back some pretty good memories. Check her out at evey-in-orbit.
Fitz Stitches

If you’re into needlepoint visit Fitz’s Stitches. She’s cross-stitched some lovely little sea creatures and is on her way to a great abstract piece too.
Zakka-Zakka

Zakka-Zakka offers a couple of great tutorials on some crafty little sewing projects. Learn how to make a five-stones game here. Or make yourself an eco friendly re-useable shopping tote here.
Zakka-Zakka also has two Etsy shops. Visit keymistress.etsy.com and shop.zakka-zakka.com for very cute japanese print fabrics and handmade totes and things.

My first real mail swap came in on Tuesday. Some stationary, stickers, gel pens, erasers and chocolate. I’ll probably swap back some of the stuff unless I find a way to use Disney stickers, which I probably won’t. But the gel pens are nice and I definitely ate the chocolate right away. Yea for swapping, I can’t wait for the next one.
I forgot to take pics of the packages I sent out in exchange for this one. I’ll have to remember that next time.
